Cotton Grass earrings

These earrings by Hannah Baum of Wild Child feature dentalium and cotton grass hand-picked in Dutch Harbor, Alaska.

Eriophorum, cotton grass, grows in the tundra and boggy lake edges all over Alaska. The fluffy seed heads resemble cotton and can even be mistaken for white fur.

The white tusk-like structures are dentalium shells from scaphopods, a hollow-shelled mollusk.
